Terms of Service
The service
Chive is a recipe-search service. It indexes recipe facts, nutrition, ingredients, and other details, then links you to the original publisher for cooking instructions. Search is available without an account. Optional accounts add saved recipes, cooking history, profiles, and personalized ranking.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding agreement where you live. You are responsible for the email and third-party sign-in accounts you use with Chive.
Accounts and personalization
You may describe your eating and cooking preferences for an AI service to organize into a reviewable profile. You are responsible for confirming that profile, especially allergies and restrictions. Personalized results are suggestions, not a guarantee that a publisher’s recipe meets your needs.
Recipe-link text messages
When you text a public recipe, TikTok, or Instagram link to a Chive number, you ask Chive to reply about that request. We may first acknowledge an import and then send its result when processing finishes. This does not enroll you in recurring or marketing messages. Message frequency depends on the links you send; message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop further replies. Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Not medical advice
Chive provides general meal-planning information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition numbers come from the recipe sources we link and may be approximate. Always confirm ingredients against your own allergies and consult a qualified professional before making significant dietary changes, especially for medical conditions.
Your data
If you create an account, we store the account, profile, saved recipes, cooking history, and limited personalization activity needed to provide those features. The original profile narrative is encrypted. See the Privacy Policy for details. We do not sell your data.
Acceptable use & changes
Don’t abuse the service (spam, attempts to extract other users’ data, unlawful use). We may suspend accounts that do, and we may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be announced by text or on this page.
