Imports + Chrome

Bring a recipe into Chive.

Chive can import a public recipe page from the web, including from the Chrome extension. Automatic cards start only after you enable them. If an import stalls or fails, keep the original page open and try the checks below.

  1. 01

    Check the automatic-card setting

Right-click Chive in Chrome and choose Options. When it is on, Chive locally looks for Recipe structured data before sending a recipe-page URL.

  2. 02

    Try the page explicitly

Open a public recipe page—not a search result or a browser-internal page—then click the Chive toolbar icon.

  3. 03

Choose private fallback only if you want it

If the server cannot read the page, sign in and choose Import using this page to share the bounded recipe details described in the Privacy Policy.

Quick answers

The details people ask for most.

01
My sign-in code is not working.
Request a new six-digit code, use the newest email, and enter it within five minutes. Check spam or junk if the message is missing.
02
How do I change or disconnect the Chrome extension?
Right-click Chive in Chrome and choose Options to turn automatic cards on or off. Choose Disconnect in Chive’s panel to remove the account from that browser, or revoke the connection from Preferences.
03
Why did a recipe import fail?
The page may be private, blocked, missing recipe data, or temporarily unavailable. Send us the exact URL and error message if retrying once does not help.
04
How do I delete my account and data?
Open Preferences, then choose Delete account. If you cannot sign in, email support from the address associated with the account.
05
How do HELP and STOP work by text?
Reply HELP for assistance. Reply STOP to stop further replies; Chive does not treat a recipe-link text as consent for recurring marketing.
