For creators
Our pledge to recipe creators
Chive helps people discover recipes, organize their favorites, and plan what to cook. We want to make that experience easier while helping the people behind those recipes reach more cooks.
Our ambition is to be both a useful tool for home cooks and a marketing partner for food and cooking creators. When someone discovers a recipe through Chive, we want that discovery to become a visit to your site, an introduction to your work, and a reason to come back.
Good recipes take work. Developing and testing a dish, photographing it, and explaining it clearly all require time, skill, and care. We respect that work and the rights of the people who create it.
Chive indexes recipe information from across the web and lets users add recipes of their own. For recipes discovered online, our public search experience highlights information such as ingredients, cooking time, servings, and nutrition. This helps cooks find dishes that suit their needs, compare options, and build grocery lists. Listings identify the original publisher, link directly to the source, and may show a recipe photo to help people recognize the dish. We direct cooks to the original site for the publisher’s full instructions, explanations, and tips.
Our approach centers on factual recipe information and limited uses of source material for discovery. Where protected material is involved, our position depends on applicable permissions or fair-use principles. We do not claim ownership of your writing or photography, and appearing in Chive does not imply that you endorse us or have a partnership with us.
We want Chive to become a useful source of traffic for recipes both new and old. We welcome conversations about how to make that happen, improve attribution, and build constructive relationships with creators.
We also respect your choice about being included. If you would prefer to remove individual recipes or your entire site from Chive’s search engine, email support@chive.recipes with your domain or recipe links and what you would like removed. Sending your request from an address associated with your site helps us verify it quickly.
We will acknowledge your request within two business days and remove the requested listings from Chive search within five business days. If you ask us to remove your entire site, we will also stop adding or updating recipes from your site as soon as we acknowledge your request. We will email you when removal is complete. You do not need to submit a legal notice or explain your decision.
The same address is open for corrections, attribution questions, concerns about other uses of your content, and partnership ideas.
We also want to hear your ideas for making Chive better. Whether you cook, create recipes, or do both, tell us what would make discovering, organizing, and planning meals easier—or help creators share their work and connect with more cooks. Send your suggestions to support@chive.recipes. Your feedback will help shape an experience that works better for everyone.
