  • ¼ cup fresh coconut (or desiccated coconut )
  • 1 cup rice
  • water as required (- for soaking rice)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (or oil)
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 medium sized tej patta (or 2 small tej patta (indian bay leaf))
  • 1 medium sized onion, (thinly sliced or ½ cup sliced onion)
  • 1 small to medium capsicum, (sliced - optional )
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder ((ground turmeric))
  • ¼ teaspoon red chili powder
  • salt (add as required)
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ cup water (or add as required)
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves ((cilantro) for garnishing)
  • fresh coconut (for garnishing - optional)
