- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup panko
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tablespoons white granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 2 Tablespoons mirin (or substitute 1 Tbsp. boiling water with 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar)
- 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon ginger (grated or ginger paste)
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
