  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste (1 small can - optional; use if your sauce is not thick enough for you)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (from a bottle; used to acidify)
