- 1½ teaspoons dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- ¼ teaspoon five spice powder ((optional))
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch ((mixed with ½ cup/120ml water))
- 2 large eggs ((beaten))
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1½ teaspoon salt ((or to taste))
- 1¼ pound dried wheat noodles (or 2 1/2 pounds/1200g fresh wheat noodles)
