- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 cup water
- (optional) pinch of sugar ((this cuts the acidity of the tomatoes))
