  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar (adjust to taste or depending on the sweetness of the apples used)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup quick oats (*see Note 1 below)
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds (*see Note 2 below)
  • 1/8 teaspon kosher salt (reduce to a pinch of salt if using salted butter)
  • 3 Tablespoons salted or unsalted butter (melted)
