  • ⅓ cup hot water for soaking
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 small to medium tej patta ((Indian bay leaf))
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onions
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (- optional)
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder (optional)
  • ¼ cup curd ((yogurt))
  • 200 grams white button mushrooms, (sliced or 2 cups sliced mushrooms)
  • ½ cup water
  • salt as required
