- pinch salt (optional and to taste)
- 1 medium apple (diced in about 1/4-inch cubes (I did not peel mine, peel if you wish; I used Fuji, use any variety you like))
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter (or vegan butter substitute)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- optionally add pinches ground ginger (pumpkin pie spice, cloves, allspice based on taste preference)
